What an inspiring follow up story about JUST ONE DOG STANLEY. Thank you to Lani Baroody, volunteer for Best Friends Society, for doing such a nice follow up and to promote the message that it only takes just one person, to do just one thing, for just one dog!
Precious was found by animal control tied up to a post, no knowing how long she had been trapped there waiting for someone to find her. She entered the shelter in July and she must have been so sweet that the shelter employees kept passing over her to put her to sleep. She was a favorite and although many other dogs came through that shelter, some got adopted, many were put to sleep . . . somehow, someway, Precious was kept alive.
Camp Cocker got wind of her story as it circulated on the internet in December. As the December owner turn in season was in high gear, dogs being turned in daily by the volumes, the shelter needed the space. They could no longer keep hope alive for Precious and it was time to admit she would never get adopted. Precious may not have had the medical issues that Stanley did, but she had two things working against her. One is that she is a pit bull and the other, is that she is a black dog. The deck was stacked against her the day she was born.
So in thinking about our old friend Stanley, we thought . . . what the heck, we'll rescue Precious (and oh boy, was it JUST in time!). So right now, Precious is spending five days a week in boarding and gets to go to a nice foster home on the weekends. But really, truly, this gal NEEDS her forever home and she needs to find one now! Please help by spreading the word to help get Precious some exposure!
It took a village of us to help Stanley on his journey to find his happy ever after ending . . . can we all band together to try to do it for Precious? Please share this on the link below, facebook, email it, please please help to get Precious the kind of amazing home that Stanley found!
