Winston came into the animal shelter after being hit by a car and had a broken jaw and open lacerations on his leg. Luckily his jaw could be repaired and his leg stitched up. Winston had his jaw x-rayed by our vet and she was able to remove the wire from his jaw when he was neutered and now he is good as new! This is one very special boy and he has endured so much to get to where he is now.
Winston is a gentle and sweet boy who very much wants to be with his people and his pack. He really came out of his shell once he had other doggies to hang out with in his foster home. He does have some separation anxiety and whomever adopts him should be prepared to work with a dog trainer to find ways to build Winston's confidence so he can slowly let go of his fear of being abandoned. He is working on making progress with house-training and he will only go potty on grass when outside. He still has potty accidents in his foster home and he might need just a really regular schedule with his new owner to take him outside every two hours, stand with him and encourage him to go potty. And then praise praise praise Winston when he goes potty outside. He also enjoys going for long walks but he won't go potty while on a walk. (he is such a mystery and has these little quirks that his foster mom is trying to figure out). Winston is so gentle and trusting and just wants to be loved and accepted. This is one truly special boy for someone willing to put some time into him.
