Meet the stunning boy, JASPER!
Jasper is one of Camp Cocker's favorites because he has gone through such an incredible transformation. When we first rescued Jasper from the shelter he was with his buddy, Gerry. They came into the shelter as strays and although we had tried to adopt them out as a pair, Jasper had a long struggle with demodex and wasn't adoptable for quite some time. Gerry ended up getting adopted by his foster home and Jasper is currently in a foster home with one of our volunteers whom has been doing wonders with his skin.
Jasper had a repeat bout of the demodex and finally after months of treatment, it has cleared up. His foster mom checks his skin every day, all over his body, to make sure that if any spots re-appear that Jasper goes to the vet immediately for pro-active treatment. He no longer has demodex but he is prone to bad cocker skin that is helped with good nutrition (no wheat, grains, corn) and also regular medicated baths. Jasper now looks like a show dog, and it unrecognizable from that dog we first rescued.
He is a sweet affectionate dog and is very smart, has learned to sit, stay, down. He is dog friendly and people friendly and really has such a great temperament that anyone whom might be prepared to be on top of his skin on a daily basis, is in for a real treat with this dog. They don't come much nicer than Jasper!
