We call Carmel our little cupcake because she is so precious that we just want to scoop her up and eat her! She is very timid and shy and we can only imagine that she did not have a lot of positive social experiences with humans in the past. But when she sees another dog, oh boy, she just lights up! Her head lifts up, her tail wags, she wants to sniff and play and interact. For this reason, we are hoping to find Carmel a home with another dog in the house so that the other dog can model their confident behavior to teach Carmel that she doesn't need to be so shy with humans.

Carmel had double cherry eye surgery and is healing right now and her eyes look simply amazing! She enjoys going for walks once she gets to know you and feels safe with you walking behind her while you hold the leash. She just needs a very special adopter, someone whom can be patient and give her the time that she needs to blossom and come out of her shy shell. We think that going to obedience classes will really help to boost her confidence and also give her a chance to bond with her new adopters through a positive and rewarding way.
