Captain is a young and energetic spaniel mix (we wonder if he has yellow lab or some golden retriever mixed in there?). When we rescued him he had a broken leg and Dr. Olds, our favorite orthopedic surgeon, did a special surgery on Captain using a brand new type of plate that promotes faster healing. We just had Captain's one month x-ray done and it is indeed happening! The healing is going so well and even Dr. Olds was impressed! Captain is now walking on the leg and putting weight on it. He needs slow steady walking to build up the muscle and most likely at around the twelve week mark, he will be like a bionic dog raring to go! Captain loves to lick the faces of people he knows. This is going to be one happy and energetic fun dog for someone who has an active lifestyle.
